As everybody knows that the Asus Zenbook Pro 15 is recognized for being a very thin 15-inch Ultrabook, but it’s a bit surprising that Asus is listing the system with an optional unlocked hexa-core Core i9-8950HK CPU.
Previous year’s the Kaby Lake Zenbook Pro 15 was only limited to Core i7 options and not expecting an upgrade to the Core i9. System manufacturers like Alienware, MSI, Aorus are going for the Core i9 for enthusiast level gaming notebooks, which also includes Asus. It’s interesting to think how such a thin laptop like the Zenbook can cope with an unlocked CPU of this caliber, users can still also go for the slower hexa core Core i5-8300H or i7-8750H, if they want.
The UX550GD SKUs are similar in design and features to the current UX550VE SKUs, other than the changes to 8th gen Intel Core CPUs. As usual the devices will be powered by the GTX 1050 and GTX 1050 Ti combined FHD or 4K UHD display. But it’s disappointing to know that no GTX 1060 Max-Q option is given, which could make it worth comparing with the popular Gigabyte Aero 15.
No official date has been announced for?ship dates of the new refreshed Asus Zenbook Pro 15.
