Qualcomm has revealed its latest Snapdragon 845 processor in the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit 2017. The new mobile platform by Qualcomm is one of the most powerful mobile chipsets with 2.8 GHz clock speed. Snapdragon 845 features eight Kryo based cores in which four of them are performance cores for handling the intense tasks running at 2.8 GHz and the other four are power-efficient cores at 1.8 GHz for the battery management.
Qualcomm has added Adreno 630 GPU for the new processor which has improved 30% than the previous GPU along with spectra 280 image signal processor that will let you capture 4K videos at 60fps. For security Qualcomm has done a great job by developing a separate ” Secure Processing Unit” on the processor for more secure and nearly unhackable processor, so your payments are far more secure as the SPU will handle everything separately.
As previously Qualcomm came with Gigabit LTE in Snapdragon 835, the new 845 features second gen Gigabit LTE X20 which will offer 20% increase in performance. There’s also the 3rd generation Qualcomm Hexagon 685 DSP that will support on device AI processing, XR(extended reality) richer camera experience.
Qualcomm’s latest processor is likely to be seen in early 2018 in devices such as Galaxy S9 or MI 7.
