The Chinese company will launch there new Xiaomi Mi A2 and Mi A2 Lite in Madrid, Spain today. This Android One smartphone is the successors to Mi A1 which launched last year and was a success. The new generation Xiaomi phones have plenty of upgrades without hitting on your wallet and are available in more markets than the previous phone.
Xiaomi Mi A2
The device holds an aluminum body, which is similar Mi A1, also the placement of the fingerprint sensor and dual rear modules is exact. This time the phone has a FHD+ 5.99 inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio and thin side bezels.
On the rear there is a 12 MP + 20 MP dual module combined with a LED flash. The primary 12 MP sensor is Sony IMX486 and the secondary 20 MP is Sony IMX376, which adds depth of field capabilities, both the sensors have an f/1.75 aperture which is good for low light scenarios. The same 20 MP sony IMX376 is also used for front image capturing.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 combined with 3000 mAh battery which also has Quick Charge 3.0 feature. The company Xiaomi doesn’t bundle a fast charger in the box, though. The device also doesn’t have a headphone jack but a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter is provided. The?device is Android One and runs on Oreo 8.1 with 2 years updates and security patches. It is not believable as Xiaomi promised feature updates ( Android Oreo ) were delayed on the Mi A1.
This time the phone will be available in 40 markets across Europe, Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa, and the Americas. Among these France will be the first to get the phone on July 27,then followed by Italy and Spain on 8 and 10 August respectively.
